- Our orchard's navel oranges, Harumi oranges, and Setoka oranges are categorized as the "late-season three citrus fruits," representing the mid-to-late spring harvest.
Navel oranges from Mikkaichi are highly regarded, boasting a sugar content of 13 degrees or higher, and still have a dedicated following as cut fruit. Setoka oranges are often described as the "premium tuna" of citrus fruits, renowned for their melt-in-your-mouth texture and rich flavor. Harumi oranges are a hybrid of Kiyomi and Ponkan, and are a popular variety among women due to their rich flavor, easy-to-peel skin, and approachable taste.
The peak season for Harumi oranges is from late February, Setoka oranges from early March, and Navel oranges from late March until around the end of the Golden Week holidays in May. As the weather warms up in May, the acidity decreases considerably, resulting in a very rich flavor.
